The Danish embassy in Kabul is closed

The Danish Embassy in Kabul is currently closed. Information regarding different inquiries:

  • Please be informed that the deadline for applications for assisted departure of Afghan nationals from Afghanistan to Denmark was 1 October 2021. Inquiries in that regard will therefore not be processed and you will not receive any further response.
  • If you are a Danish citizen or you have a legal right of stay in Denmark and you have inquiries about assisted departure from Afghanistan or otherwise require consular assistance from Denmark, please contact the Consular Department of the Danish MFA ([email protected], +45 3392 1112).
  • The Danish Interpreters’ Agreement from 2013 is still in force: You can still apply for support in accordance with the Danish Interpreters’ Agreement (The Agreement on the Management of the Situation for Interpreters and other Locally Employed in Afghanistan) from 2013. This means that former interpreters working with the Danish Defence in Afghanistan and former locally employed staff at the Danish Embassy in Kabul who are directly menaced or imperilled as a result of having assisted the Danish effort in Afghanistan, still can apply for support in accordance with the Interpreters’ Agreement from 2013. The Interpreters' Agreement (2013) itself can be found via this link.
  • If you are a former interpreter who have assisted the Danish Defence in Afghanistan, you can apply for support through the Interpreter’s agreement via the Danish military authorities ([email protected]).
  • If you are former locally employed staff at the Danish Embassy in Kabul, you can send your application for support through the Interpreter’s agreement to [email protected].
